Lunch At Puri

Puri is famous for Lord Jagannath in Odisha. It is the district headquarters of Puri district and is situated on the Bay of Bengal, 60 kilometers (37 mi) south of the state capital of Bhubaneswar. It is also known as Sri Jagannatha Dhama after the 12th-century Jagannatha Temple located in the city. It is one of the original Char Dham pilgrimage sites for Hindus.

In the last cyclone, FANI, this city of paradise has been destroyed. The whole district along with Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur are affected heavily.

Today, I visited the temple, to invite Lord Jagannath along with his elder brother Balabhadra, one and only sister Subhadra and Sudarshan for my sister's marriage function. Since this is one ritual of our Odia culture to invite Lord Jagannath 1st before doing any festival at home.

Lunch At Puri Jagannath

After visiting the temple, I went to the Anand Bazar and returned by bringing some Kanika for home. Before leaving Puri, I had my Lunch in a Marwadi hotel next to the Ratha Khala, where the Kumbhakara Sebakas use to make Carts for the Cart festival or Rathajatra of Lord Jagannath.
